We worship God in many different ways in school; this may be in assemblies, class sharing assemblies, key-stage singing assemblies, attending Mass at Paul’s Church or in class liturgy inspired by the liturgical year, gospel readings, parables or Catholic Social Teaching.

Station of the Cross

Stations of the Cross

The Mini Vinnies led our devotion to the Stations of the Cross for KS2 pupils and staff. Through scripture, reflections and prayer, The Mini Vinnies offered us all the opportunity to encounter Jesus’ suffering and sacrifice.

In our recent Act of Worship assembly, Year 4 reflected on the theme of the Common Good, linking our learning in RSE to the principles of Catholic Social Teaching. As part of our worship, we read the story of David and Goliath and explored how courage, faith, and standing up for what is right can help us serve others and contribute to the good of our community.

The children brought the message to life through a thoughtful drama performance, helping everyone to reflect more deeply on the meaning of the story. Through prayer, discussion, and performance, pupils considered how their everyday actions can positively impact others. It was wonderful to see the children sharing their ideas confidently and demonstrating a growing understanding of responsibility, kindness, and respect within our school family and wider community.

Year 4 Trip

Year 4 enjoyed a wonderful educational visit to a Reform Jewish synagogue in Bromley as part of their RE learning about Judaism and the Torah. During the visit, pupils had the opportunity to explore the synagogue and learn about its importance as a place of worship and community. They discovered how the Torah is carefully cared for and why it is special within the Jewish faith, deepening their understanding through real-life experiences and thoughtful discussion. The children asked insightful questions and showed great respect and curiosity as they learned about Jewish traditions, beliefs, and practices. The visit provided a meaningful opportunity to bring classroom learning to life and develop pupils’ understanding of different faiths and cultures.

In Year 4 RE, pupils explored the Bible story of Jacob and Esau through drama and creative learning. The children worked collaboratively to create freeze frames, carefully using their facial expressions, body language, and positioning to represent key moments from the story. This activity helped pupils deepen their understanding of the characters’ feelings, choices, and relationships, while encouraging thoughtful discussion about themes such as forgiveness, honesty, and family. It was wonderful to see the children confidently sharing their ideas and bringing the story to life through teamwork and imagination.

Year 1 have been learning about Baptism this week in RE. The children have been looking at the special ceremony and understanding the different roles. We acted out a baptism and discussed the importance of being baptised.

Year 5 Mass

Year 5 attended Mass on Friday 10th to celebrate Jesus and to give thanks for all the good things God has given us as a school community.

Prayer Garden

We blessed our beloved prayer garden. We has an amazing ceremony where Fr Richard blessed and as well as the garden. We started the service by singing a song (Immaculate Mary). The prayer garden was blessed so it can be used as a safe and relaxing place for everyone to reflect and pray'.

We blessed the prayer garden with Fr Richard. During the service, we also blessed the rosary for the month of Mary. The Mini Vinnies composed this service, with the help of some adults. Throughout the service, we sang different songs such as Ave-Maria and On this school your blessing Lord.

Year 6 Mass

The Year 6 pupils showed great dedication and hard work while planning and leading their Mass. They worked collaboratively to prepare readings, write thoughtful bidding prayers, practise their roles, and choose meaningful hymns, showing a strong sense of responsibility and teamwork throughout the process.
